Below is a guide to some of the simple ways you can breathe new life into your home.

Touch up the paintwork

A great starting point for refreshing your home is also one of the simplest ones: touching up the paintwork. Walls that are chipped, peeling or stained look messy, so instead of leaving them until you redecorate, take the time to touch them up. You’ll be amazed at how much of a difference touching up your paintwork can make to the look and feel of your home.

Not got any paint left over? Head to your local DIY store for some paint testers that match the colors you’ve used in your home.

Fix anything that’s broken

If your home is filled with damaged items, from a broken table to a not properly working garage door, it will look badly kept. So, to remedy this, take the time to note down anything that’s broken and how you can fix them.

For instance, while you might be able to fix a broken table yourself, other issues, like damaged blinds can’t usually be repaired and may need to be replaced – you can learn more here – or garage door repairs are a little trickier and you might want to call in a professional to help you to deal with them.

Do a deep clean

Another way to give your home a bit of a boost, without spending too much, is by doing a really deep clean. This means cleaning everything, from your surfaces and walls to your tiles and carpets, instead of doing your normal cleaning routine.

For instance, taking the time to deep clean the carpets in your home, will make a huge difference to how they look (and smell). For best results, hire a carpet cleaning machine or buy yourself one to keep on hand going forward, so that you can keep on top of your carpets.

Utilize accessories

When it comes to upgrading your home, accessories can have a big impact. A few, well throughout accessories can make a big difference to each room in your home, so using little things like new throws, cushions and decor can have a big difference to the look and feel of your space.

The good news is that these don’t have to be expensive to buy; be smart about where you shop and you can pick up accessories at some really low prices.
