We got a lot of snow where I lived as a child and Mom would load us all up in the station wagon to take us to a huge sledding hill. She and her girlfriends went sledding too and it was mortifying – all those old ladies sledding with the kids! I realized many years later when I took my own kids sledding that she was only in her 20’s.
