You spend so many hours of your life in your home, that it’s important you consider it a lovely
place to be. It should be a sanctuary, a place where you look forward to getting back to after a busy day at work, or time out with your friends and family members.
For us, as soon as you walk through the door, you should feel at ease. A lovely home smell (rooms sprays are great for this) to welcome you as well as tidy interiors, to reduce the stress – there is nothing worse than a messy space. Ensure you use the best plumbers to reduce any bad odors from your drainage and consider rugs and cushions to present a calming space.
Below we look at simple ways to make your home a lovely place to be.
Invest in some cushions and rugs
Cushions and rugs can have a big impact on how a room feels. They add subtle colors to the room and with the right colors, help compliment your interiors. Both are very affordable and can easily be purchased, with next day delivery often available. With a quick search on Pinterest or Instagram, you’ll find plenty of inspiration on how to use rugs to help improve how homely and lovely your home is. What a lot of people do is purchase multiple cushions and then rotate them round depending on the time of year it is.
Plants, plants and plants
If there is one thing you should be purchasing to make your home a more lovely place to be, then that is some plants. Plants are great for adding color to a room, they help break up any white spaces and they are affordable (just like cushions and rugs). With a quick visit to your local garden center, you’ll find there are a whole plethora of options for you to choose from. Plants also have many health benefits, including being great for your mental health and helping reduce your stress levels.
Reduce your clutter
We are all guilty of having too much clutter in our home. The longer you have lived in a certain place for, then the more clutter you will have likely collected. Over time, this can become too much, causing your home to look messy and feel unclean. Dedicate a set amount of time to go through all your cupboards and throw out anything you no longer need anymore. Try to be ruthless and if required ask a friend to help (often they will be stricter than you). Any items you are not sure about, leave them to one side and set a time limit on them. If you don’t go to use them within the next 3 months, you then throw them out.
