Do Revenge
The teen movie of the decade has arrived on Netflix with Do Revenge, the latest Gen Z movie. Inspired by the Alfred Hitchcock classic, “Strangers on a Train,” the film follows the exploits of two teenage girls who want revenge. Starring Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes, Do Revenge is a promising new series on Netflix. Featuring Camila Mendes from “Riverdale” and Maya Hawke from “Stranger Things,” this new Netflix original is a feminist take on mainstream high school comedies. It has a distinctly female cast and touches on queer politics and class awareness. It shows a world in which girls are in control, despite the Machiavellian nature of their world.
Okja
The Okja movies aren’t for the faint of heart. This heartbreaking film is a brutal examination of the meat industry. It also touches on capitalism and visionary themes. You might want to skip this one if you have a young child. Another one to watch is Bad Education, which is being revived for its fifth season. While the previous film is one of Netflix’s most recent releases, this film is more experimental and risky than its predecessors. Although it premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, the film’s theatrical release was delayed by French law. In the US, this film will be available on Netflix on June 28. It will also be available in South Korea.
Simon Leviev’s Catfish Saga
“Catfish,” by Simon Leviev, is a thriller that starts like a supersized episode of MTV’s Catfish and pivots into a feminist revenge thriller. The film follows the exploits of Leviev, who targets Swedish woman Pernilla Sjoholm. He recruits the help of two women, Ayleen Charlotte and Cecilie, to catch the catfish. The film follows the women working together to foil Leviev’s crimes. Leviev’s escapade begins on Tinder. He claims to be the CEO of a diamond company and lives a lavish lifestyle. He later asks Cecilie to move in with him after he becomes threatened with losing a diamond deal. When she refuses, he demands she lend him money and credit cards.
A Perfect Pairing
If you are looking for a fun romcom, you should try A Perfect Pairing on Netflix. It is a Netflix original movie, and Hilary Galanoy and Elizabeth Hackett wrote the screenplay. The film was directed by Stuart McDonald, who has also directed such TV shows as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Black-ish. Galano and Hackett co-wrote the screenplays for Love, Guaranteed, and Falling Inn Love. The movie is about a wine executive who travels to Australia and meets a mysterious local. A Perfect Pairing is a romantic comedy movie starring Victoria Justice. While the plot resembles a Hallmark movie, the Netflix movie is not an adaptation of that movie. While the original Hallmark movie used the plot of a woman whose memory is wiped clean by a mysterious magical place, the Netflix movie has a citified go-getter as its protagonist.
Mission Impossible
If you’re looking for new action-packed movies, Mission Impossible on Netflix this week has some great titles. The newest film, Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol, follows Ethan Hunt in his search for a Russian nuclear launch code stolen by an international terrorist organization. The film features Tom Cruise, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, and Vanessa Kirby. The series also features newcomer Carmel Elwes.
Tom Cruise is known for his blockbuster franchises and his excellent movie performances over the years. Another new film that has just hit Netflix is the acclaimed thriller Collateral, directed by Michael Mann. The movie stars Cruise as a bank robber named Vincent and Jamie Foxx as his cabbie Max. Vincent has several missions to complete.
