Meal Prep

This might seem a little silly since you will probably be home for most of the day, but hear me out! When you work from home, it can be very hard to stay focused, or even just to start working in the mornings. When it comes time to eat breakfast, lunch, or dinner, that is time that you have to take to stop what you are doing, cook, get together your meal, eat, and then rebuild your focus on your work. For me, when it comes time for meals, sometimes I will just grab something quick and microwaveable to take the easy route. What I grab usually ends up not being the healthiest of choices! Meal prepping ahead of time will save you time, reduce the distractions and breaks in your focus, and help you make healthier eating decisions. Time is of the essence when you work from home, especially when you also have kids to take care of! Even though you stay in the house for work, save time and stay healthy by preparing your meals ahead of time.

Set Daily Goals

Set daily goals for yourself, to make sure you stay productive. I find that when I write down all of the tasks that I need to do in a day, I am much more productive compared to when I do not write everything down. Visually seeing a list of what I need to do is beneficial, but the feeling of checking off each task and staying organized is the best!

Get Out

Working from home seems to be a dream for so many people! It is so nice to be able to wake up and not have to put on fancy clothes and drive into an office. However, sometimes it can make you feel like you never get out of your house – especially when you have kids. When you work from home, make an active effort to leave the house whenever you can to avoid feeling stir-crazy. Taking your kids to soccer games or play dates, where you can work on your computer while they play, is a great option to get you out while continuing your duties as a great parent. If you are able to, getting some exercise outdoors in between work tasks is another great option. Don’t lock yourself inside, get out!
