5 Items Every DIYer Should Consider Buying This Black Friday

It’s no secret that Black Friday is the biggest and most anticipated shopping day of the year. It’s the official kick-off to the holiday shopping season and it’s said that 30% of annual retail sales occur between Black Friday and Christmas. Black Friday is the perfect opportunity for every DIYer to purchase project materials at a steal.

For all of you handymen and women out there, if you are considering a major remodel, Black Friday is the best time to stock up on supplies. Here are 5 items that you should consider buying (should they go on sale) at Lowe’s on Black Friday.

Screwdriver Bit Set

Every DIYer should own a decent screwdriver bit set. I can’t even begin to tell you how many times screwdrivers in my household have gone missing. Consider buying the DEWALT 100 Piece Shank Screwdriver Bit Set for yourself or a loved one. It comes with the most commonly used screwdriver accessories and the magnetic drive guide reduces wobble.

Tool Chest

For people (like myself) who tend to lose things, a tool chest would make a great gift for anyone. One item I remember my dad always wanted was a decent tool chest. I’m considering buying my husband the CRAFTSMAN 2000 Series 52-in W x 24.5-in H 8-Drawer Ball-bearing Steel Tool Chest this year.  One thing I love about CRAFTSMAN products is they are built to last.

Plier Set

You can’t go wrong with a decent plier set. I don’t even know how many times I’ve needed them and had none on hand. With the Kobalt Locking Plier Set, you not only get two but the patented low-impact release mechanism keeps your fingers from getting snapped by the handle upon release from the locked position. This set includes a 10-inch curved jaw and a 6-1/2 inch long nose to help you with a variety of projects.

Cordless Drill

This is an item every household should have on hand regardless of whether you are a DIYer or not. The Bosch GSR18 V-190B22 18 V Compact 1/2 In. Drill/Driver Kit features a drill with 480 In.-Lbs. of torque, for more power to tackle the toughest tasks around the job site. It has a two-speed transmission – one optimized for high-torque driving and one for high-speed drilling. One small but really great feature I should mention is the built-in LED – great visibility in dark work areas.

Nailer

Nailers (or what some of you may know to be nail guns) are very useful for a DIYer. Check out the Metabo HPT 1.375-in 23-Gauge Pin Pneumatic Nailer. Some nice features include a large fastener capacity for fewer reloads and less downtime and a dual trigger for safe and accurate placement of fasteners.

While I may suggest these 5 items, I’d like to mention that there are many other options that a DIYer could also consider buying for Black Friday and this holiday shopping season. To me, the home improvement and tool portion of Black Friday ads always gets overlooked. While everyone wants those flashy top of the line electronic devices, the real winners of Black Friday are items that will actually help you or loved ones around the home. Those items are the real MVPs!

Happy Black Friday shopping!
