However, if you’re moving abroad for your own reasons, or your employer won’t be arranging these things on your behalf, then you’re going to be responsible for making sure that you’re legally allowed to work in the place to where you’re moving. Making sure you have all your documents organized and ready before moving, such as a valid passport, visa, work permit, and even things like your birth certificates, etc, are all things you’ll need to have with you. Also, don’t forget, that if you’re moving to a country where the language isn’t the same as the one your documents are in, then these may need to be translated and notarized.

Your Accommodations

Although you may not be moving into the new place the minute you land, it’s also not the best idea to wait until you arrive in the new place to start actually looking for places. Your Insurance

Again, like visas and work permits, this may be something that’s arranged for you through your employer, but it may not be, and since things like health insurance are mandatory in some countries, then it’s advisable to take a look at what kind of insurance you’re going to need to live there and start shopping around to get some quotes.

Your Research

Moving abroad will be made a lot easier if you carry out some research on the place you’re going to be living, and this is definitely best done before you leave – ideally as soon as possible when you know that you’re going to be moving, whether it’s researching the best neighborhoods, the school system, or things like where the locals eat, then doing your research will make your life so much easier overall.
