Lighting

While bright white bulbs can be great, certainly over the winter months when it is much darker, if you are going for a cozy alcove kind of look calmer than an orange tone, industrial light bulbs are ideal. They give it the same tones as lighting candles and there are some cool options now that can look a lot like art installations or retro lighting.

Rugs

If you have wooden, stone, or laminate flooring, you know that this can get quite cold during the winter months. A drop in the temperature will be even more noticeable if you have a stone floor. Having a rug can quickly give an extra layer of warmth, as well as some insulation.

Not only that but just like adding art to your walls and having specific lighting types, it can tie a room together too.

Opting for natural fiber rugs means you can play around with some texture too. If you’re looking for that extra luxurious cozy factor, then faux fur or just an extra thick twist, a rug will give people another place to relax upon.

Windows

If you have single-pane Windows color or have double glazed windows that have not been changed in quite some time, you will notice that they conduct heat and cold very well. This means that you will be losing plenty of cash on your energy utility bills, and the room will never be quite as cozy as it could be.

One of the biggest things you can do in order to improve the energy-efficient list of your windows is to get them replaced. Click here for more information about that

Art

if you do not have anything on the walls, you might notice just a slight echo around your home, and it can look quite bare. Even if you are going for a minimalist interior design, you will most likely use the art for color and texture. The colors, design, textures, color, and size of the art can change how an entire room feels.

If you’re looking for something more individual, then it’s worth going to some art fares or looking online for a one-off when looking specifically to warm a room up, think about more orange shades and auburn tones.

They naturally remind us of fire, and therefore we will immediately feel cozier.

Candles

As mentioned before, lighting can play a huge part in helping your room calmer, and candles can make almost any room feel almost spa-like. Choose scents that you and naturally find. Think about scents like pumpkin spice, apple spices, cinnamon and vanilla cupcakes, and other tasty treats.

Textures

think about a pic of cozy blankets and super fluffy pillows. These are not only one of the quickest ways to bring warmth to a room; they are also incredibly comfortable.

And when the nights get slightly colder, it is much more common for people to grab a blanket and wrap it around them as they are watching TV, reading a book, or simply relaxing.

Colors

Spring brings the winter can offer reminds us of June, burnt orange pumpkins, and toasted marshmallows. You might like to change some of the colors of your interior designed to match. For example, if you have brightly colored cushions, you might want to swap them out for deeper plums and auburn.

Most people will change their interior over the festive period to reds, golds, silvers, and sparkles. We most often associated these tones with Christmas celebrations.

Something to bear in mind is that usually, these winter items will go on sale early in the spring, which is just after the winter has been. So you can pick up some bargains that are ready for that next Winter. This will keep the price down and allow you to stay well within any budget.
