When you think of an entrepreneur, you think of someone taking a risk when it comes to the business world. What is an entrepreneur exactly? An entrepreneur is a person who organizes and operates a business or businesses, taking on greater than normal financial risks in order to do so. Sometimes the business ends up working out and grows into something huge. Other times, it fizzles out within the first year. College students often have an interest in becoming an entrepreneur and due to this, scholarships are available for those individuals.

Let’s take a look at a list of scholarships for entrepreneurs right now.

Kalu Yala Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school senior that has been accepted into a college or university or high school senior that has been accepted into a college or university.
  • You must write a 500-word essay on the topic: “The Main Benefits of Studying Abroad”.
  • Deadline is December 31st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected in January 2019.

CouponSurf Entrepreneurs Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Open to high school seniors and university students in accredited school programs.
  • A 500-1,000 word essay is required and they want you to write about your entrepreneurial passion and idea.
  • Deadline to apply is December 31st, 2018.

IFAEF Scholarship Sponsored by Marriott Foundation

  • Amount: $2,000
  • Eligibility: Must be enrolled in a U.S. accredited college or university with studies in business, hospitality or franchise management and have a sophomore, junior or senior college class standing for the period of the scholarship.
  • Must submit an official academic transcript and prepare a short typed essay (no more than 500-words) on “The Value of a College Education.”
  • Deadline to apply is October 31st, 2018.

The Doc Cohen Franchising Scholarship

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Eligibility: U. S. Citizen enrolled in an accredited college/university in the U.S with a major or primary focus in one or more of these areas of study – business, finance, marketing, food service, hospitality, franchising or entrepreneurship.
  • You must submit a business plan (up to 10 pages) on a franchise concept you would seek to own.
  • Deadline to apply is October 31st, 2018.
