10 Scholarships to Apply for Today

When the kids go off to college it can become costly. Many colleges, companies and people throughout the country offer scholarships to those heading off to college or even while one is attending college. Scholarships can alleviate some of the financial stresses on parents and students alike and always come in handy.

Here are 10 scholarships you or your college student can apply for today. Be sure to click on the scholarship name which will take you to the website to see more details and to apply.

 Jason Kulpa

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school students who will graduate in 2018 and have already been selected to attend a college or university or students currently enrolled in a college or university but who have not yet reached their senior year.
  • You have to write a 500 word essay on the topic “Marketing Predictions for 2019“.
  • Deadline is May 31st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected on June 30th, 2018.

 Groza Learning Center

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school students who graduate in 2017 who have been accepted into a college or students currently enrolled in a college or university.
  • You have to write a short essay about your take on the word ‘redemption‘. Essay must be under 500 words.
  • Submission deadline is November 30th, 2017.
  • Winner will be selected by December 2017 and contacted by January 7th, 2018.

Aaron Minc

  • Amount: $1,500
  • Eligibility: American high school student graduating in 2018 that has been accepted to a USA college or university or a current USA enrolled college or university student that hasn’t reached senior year.
  • You have to write a 1000 word essay answering the question: “What sort of steps and laws should states be implementing to protect society from the ever-growing problems of cyberbullying, revenge porn, and other forms of harassment and online defamation?“.
  • Submission deadline is July 31st, 2018.
  • Winner will be contacted by the end of August 2018.

Rocco Basile

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school students graduating this calendar year and have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, or design school. Students currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school, or design school. All majors and areas of study are encouraged to apply.
  • You have to write a 300+ word essay answering the question: “How can the power of photography change the world?“. You must also include one photograph that best exemplifies this scholarship to you.
  • Submission deadline is March 1st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected in early March 2018.

Nationwide Debt Direct

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school students graduating this calendar year, and have been accepted into a college, or university in the USA. Students currently enrolled in a college or university, and not having reached their senior year. Students from all majors and areas of study are encouraged to apply.
  • You must submit a short essay (5oo words or less) discussing how you plan to keep your student loan debt to a minimum.
  • Submission deadline is May 1st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected by June 31st, 2018.

John Jesensky

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: Must be a citizen, national or legal permanent resident of the U.S. Must be either a high school senior or a college student currently enrolled full-time at an accredited U.S. vocational, junior college, or four-year college/university.
  • You must write a short essay with at least 500 words answering the following question: “What kind of impact does music really make on society?”.
  • Submission deadline is March 1st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected in early March 2018.

Karl Jobst

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school students graduating this calendar year, and have been accepted into a college, or university in the USA. Students currently enrolled in a college or university, and not having reached their senior year.
  • In 500 words or less you must discuss  your strengths and unique traits and how they will help you in your future endeavors — academic or professional.
  • Submission deadline is May 1st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected by the end of May 2018.

Summit Shah

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school students graduating this calendar year and have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, or design school are eligible to apply. Students currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school, or design school. All majors and areas of studies are encouraged to apply.
  • You must submit a short essay (5oo words or less) recounting an incident or time when you experienced failture. How did it affect you and what lessons did you learn?
  • Submission deadline is May 1st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected in early May 2018.

Rusty Tweed

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High school students graduating this school year and have been accepted into a college, university, trade school, or design school. Students currently enrolled in a college, university, trade school, or design school. Undergraduates enrolled in college do not have to be pursuing an economic major to be eligible.
  • You must write a short essay of 600 words or less answering the question: “Why does economics matter to you?
  • Submission deadline is April 1st, 2018.
  • Winner will be selected by April 30th, 2018.

Scholars Helping Collars

  • Amount: $1,000
  • Eligibility: High School Seniors
  • You must submit an essay of 500 to 1000 words an include two to three photos of your volunteer efforts to help animals in need and how that involvement has changed your life or shaped your perceptions on the importance of of animal welfare.
  • Submission deadline is February 15th, 2018.
  • Winner will be chosen by March 31st, 2018.

 

There are many other scholarships out there that you or your college student can apply to. Just simply do a search for “scholarships” in Google or whatever search engine you use.
